The Role

 

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Corporate Affairs and will, in accordance with the directions given by this Manager, be responsible for the coordination and administration of the following aspects of the SFPA’s work:

  • Support internal communications, through developing and distributing regular internal e-newsletters including writing content and sourcing images and other activities as required.

  • Plan, edit and write content for internal communications.

  • Create editorial content such as video content and internet campaigns.

  • Work with senior management to establish and roll out an internal communications strategy which will ensure key messages are communicated clearly and consistently across all business units and locations.

  • Promote the SFPA Organisational Strategy, ensuring all communications are on brand and create maximum levels of employee engagement.

  • Connect brand, mission and purpose throughout internal communications.

  • Executing campaigns to promote company values.

  • Use staff feedback to implement new initiatives to improve internal communications.

  • Support the Communications Manager and Team with the management of the website and Intranet.

  • Serve as content administrator for overall website and Intranet content to ensure quality, clarity and consistency.

  • Proactively plan & manage the content of the website and Intranet, draft articles, update the news and events sections.

  • Collect, monitor and analyse website and Intranet metrics, and make recommendations as necessary.           

  • Support the Communications Manager and Team to implement communications strategies around core campaigns and projects.

  • Work with the Communications Manager and Team to research media stories, develop press releases, draft press materials and liaise with journalists as necessary.

  • Assist with researching and drafting copy for print materials including interviewing, editing, proofreading and collating amendments from colleagues, wider stakeholders and so on.

  • Research, maintain and update media lists and stakeholder contacts.

  • Assist with coordinating key events, for the purpose of ensuring these activities are well planned and operate smoothly.

  • Work with our designers to coordinate and produce high quality materials as required and assist with managing the production process from concept to delivery.

  • Performing other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Communications unit.

 

Essential Entry Requirements for the Senior Administrator Role

Candidates must meet the following essential requirements prior to their appointment:

  • Five years’ experience in marketing and/ or communications with as successful track record relevant to the post.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal, presentation, writing and proof reading skills.

  • A flair for developing engaging communications.

  • Excellent organisational, scheduling and planning skills.

  • Ability to juggle different priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Awareness of the environment in which the SFPA operates and/ or an ability to quickly learn same as well as a passion for finding out new information.

  • Creativity.

  • Self-confident and sociable – ability to network effectively.

  • Team player.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Achievement orientated and results driven.

  • Demonstrable administrative & organisational skills.

  • Be IT literate, and be familiar with the following software packages (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) at a minimum.

  • Be open to new ideas and methodologies.

  • Be able to complete all tasks to a high standard.

  • Have a strong ethos of confidentiality.

  • Be self-motivated and prepared to be flexible when the occasion demands.

 

In addition to the minimum qualification entry requirement candidates must also have:

  • Fluent spoken and written English is absolutely essential

Desirable entry requirements

  • Proven ability to implement communication strategies in either a corporate or public sector environment.

  • Previous experience working with website analytics and content management systems.

  • Third Level Qualification in Marketing/Communications/Public Relations.

  • An understanding and knowledge of the public sector and government policies for the sector.
